Our Weekend....

Saying Goodbye to Natasha & Andri.... Papa with Sophia,
Katya, and her friend Sasha.

Jonathan & Nastia (white) at Hunt, Buddy with Andri.
Katya & Pasha, friends from
having surgery at the hospital in December

Saturday we came to the orphanage to project another movie, but
couldn't find our 2nd adapter, so "oops". We did bring Sasha though
to see Katya, and stickers for the other three, and that was a hit!
Earlier in the day were were at an Easter Egg hunt. Chris' friend from
3M drove us with her daughter Nastia. We hiked around, and had wonderful food, and treats in a bag for the kids. Jonathan got a nice treat bag at the event with various snacks including some Kvas which is a kind of a special beverage that they have here. It has a unique taste kind of like a sweet root beer.
Today on Sunday, we headed out to the orphanage in the morning and hung out with the kids. We showed the movie cars, watched as the kids do their dance/excercises/stretching and then played outside. After they had lunch and when we had finished the movie, we headed back to the apartment. We stopped on the way at a market where we catch the metro and picked up some groceries. We are pretty stocked up now for a while. The other family here from MN, has headed back to the States for the 10 day waiting period, and left us with food too!
Speaking of food, you might be wondering what we eat everyday. We almost always cook our own food in our apartment. We have gone out to eat a few times, even a couple of times at McDonalds, but we mostly cook at home. for Breakfast, usually have eggs, toast and juice. The other day we had something like hash browns - really a potato pancake. Sometimes we have yogurt and other days I have had cereal (Musilix) with milk. All of the milk here is either 2.5% or 3.5%. For lunch we pack a sandwich, fruit, sometimes a treat. For dinner we have all sorts of stuff, usually a meat, chicken or fish, sometimes rice or pasta and a vegetable. We also have some treats like chips or chocolate once in a while. We buy all of the water we drink here in six liter containers. There is a small grocery store only about 1/2 a block from our apartment, so it is very easy for us to run out there to get something we need. Our apartment is in a very convenient location.
Tomorrow we are heading to the orphanage early and hoping for good news once we get there. We will give an update on that tomorrow. Keep us in your prayers! Love Alesia & Chris

Pray for those who persecute you....

Matt 5:11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven...."

Matt 5:44" But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of the Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.....

Phil 4:5-9 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.

2nd Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

We adopted 4 older siblings from Ukraine in 2010 and hope we can help.

We will share what we learn and help you when we can. There are great supports here on this page. Sometimes it's one day, moment and breath at a time. And you're not alone. Love, Alesia & Chris
