Too Much....

We realize that we just have too much....too much stuff, too much too do...

And too many blessings for what we are able to appreciate right now...too many old memories we're saying good-bye to...too many tears!

Too much lawn to mow, and too many broken lawn mowers! Too many floors to sand and coat, and too many doors to fix.

Too much warm weather and too much forgetfulness to close the doors to keep the house cool! And too many things to fix around the new home, like the air conditioner!

Too many ticks!

May we be grateful for His "too much" in our lives and use His wisdom to handle the other too much's with patience, peace and grace.

As we may seem relaxed and light hearted now, these days are very stressful for us, and we appreciate your prayers. You can't pray too much for us in these few days this week and the next.

May He shower you with too much this week! Love Alesia & Chris

Broken Candy Bars

Dear Friends and Family,

In our light months of June & July, we are trying to get our older home on the market to sell. Chris is working extra hard with fixit projects, and I'm just tired and exhausted from the move, party, school and shuffling kids everywhere. But I am feeling a bit more rested today.

We had a wonderful anniversary away from it all, just driving, spending wonderful low key time with Alesia's Dad & Mom up north. We were able to see some family and friends on our way back, which was long over due.

We talked and listened and enjoyed the quiet time. Now we need to hunker down and work hard for a few days and weeks to sell our previous home.

Tonight we had dinner together and passed out the candy bars given to us at our party last Saturday. Every one of them was broken. Many things have been broken over the past year...some big things, some little things, some hearts. And many times the one breaking them doesn't say anything or admit anything.

It's my prayer and hope for the Haak Family, that someday they will admit what they break, and seek forgiveness for breaking the little candy bar with their hands, or the family member's heart with their words. That will be a beautiful day in our family. When we can trust each other enough to do this.

God bless your day. We need your prayers during these long days for the next month or so!

In Him, Alesia & Chris

Happy Mother's Day

What better way to spend Mother's Day than with your children and a couple of friends who had busy husbands as well. We had a Mother/Child day sandwiched between 2 hockey games. With nummy ham, potatoes, fruit. Chris was on a work trip.

Our children had fun listening to the Twins, watching Veggie Tales, playing volleyball on our quiet street in the rain, and just being together.

We rec'd beds today for Katya & Natasha. Our moved went great last weekend despite 11 hockey games scheduled between the kids, and the rain. My 2 brothers came in full muscle and I don't ever remember them being as strong and helpful as they were last Saturday..esp moving the piano! We had a host of helpers from our church, work, family, and friends! THANKS. We just got our phone hooked up....same number... and our wireless, so we are "connected".

We are still on for our Open House, May 21, Sat 12-6. Come if you know us and know where we live. We look forward to seeing you! Invitations coming soon in the mail!

This week we host a piano recital, and hockey is pretty much stopping for a couple of months. We hope to head to the ballfield as a family and hit some singles or better.

Our struggles come with what to do when or next. We have a lot to do to get our previous home on the market, still have lots of school for the kids, and little/big jobs around our new home to tackle. We'll get there one step at a time.

Thanks again for all your support. We are more aware this time of year, what we were doing last year...so we are reminded of your support over the past year. All of you!

Alesia & Chris

Pray for those who persecute you....

Matt 5:11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven...."

Matt 5:44" But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of the Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.....

Phil 4:5-9 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.

2nd Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

We adopted 4 older siblings from Ukraine in 2010 and hope we can help.

We will share what we learn and help you when we can. There are great supports here on this page. Sometimes it's one day, moment and breath at a time. And you're not alone. Love, Alesia & Chris
